• Charity

Giving back is incredibly important to us. Every year we happily dedicate our time, professional expertise and physical efforts to supporting our communities and designated charities. We also earmark a percentage of our annual profit for charity. Whether by running a marathon or cycling Alpe d'Huez or providing pro bono planning law advice, we support a range of charitable organisations.

Lord Mayor's Appeal Charity

As a Company based in the City, we have enrolled on the City Giving Day 2020 to celebrate and showcase our philanthropic and volunteering achievements and encourage others to get involved. We are delighted to be part of the Lord Mayor’s Appeal, bringing together business, employees, neighbouring communities and charities to find solutions to some of London’s most pressing societal issues. We want to help create a difference, and a better city for All.

The Architects' Company

Martha Grekos is a Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of the Chartered Architects. Through our involvement, we aim to promote the quality of architecture in the City of London and the architectural profession globally, supporting education through awards and prizes as well as a range of charities related to the City. We work with the Lord Mayor and the City Corporation to champion London as the global hub for architecture.

Temple Bar Trust

Martha Grekos is a Trustee of the Temple Bar Trust. The Temple Bar Trust leases and manages Sir Christopher Wren’s Temple Bar in Paternoster Square (the former ceremonial entrance to the City of London built in 1672) to provide an income to support the charitable aims of the Worshipful Company of Chartered Architects. The Temple Bar Trust seeks to advance education as to the importance of the preservation and use of this historic structure and its heritage as the Architectural Gateway to the City of London. We will transform it once again as a metaphorical gateway, a place where people can learn about the architecture and heritage before embarking on their visits and tours of the places and buildings of the Square Mile. The Temple Bar Trust seeks to advance education in respect of the practice, science, art, history, conservation and preservation of architecture generally and in respect of the architecture and history of the City of London by organising a regular programme of talks about architecture in the City aimed at a general audience and young people. The Temple Bar Trust specifically focus on supporting diversity in the architectural profession and promoting architecture to a wider public.

The London Society

Martha Grekos is a Trustee of the London Society. It is one of the oldest civic societies, established to encourage public interest and participation in urban planning and transport matters in London as well as to study and celebrate London’s unique history and character. The London Society’s motto is "valuing the past; looking to the future" – a mission that the Society tries to achieve through its publications, events and lobbying, by arranging events and visits to a variety of places, buildings and institutions, some not generally open to the public, organise debates and lectures addressed by distinguished speakers. The London Society also sponsors the All Party Parliamentary Group on London Planning and Built Environment.

Social Mobility Foundation

Martha Grekos is a mentor at the Social Mobility Foundation. The Social Mobility Foundation is a charity that exists to support high-achieving young people from low income backgrounds into top universities and professions. SMF students are very bright, but there is rarely anyone in their family (or even amongst friends of their family) who has been to university, or who has entered a profession – let alone a person who has followed the career path that they would one day like to pursue. It is wonderful to be able to inspire and transform the lives of the young people we support.

Advocate

Martha Grekos is a Panel Member at Advocate. Advocate is the Bar’s national charity that makes it possible for barristers to balance a dedicated practice with making a significant contribution to the community. Advocate match members of the public who need free legal help with barristers who are willing to donate their time and expertise in deserving cases for those who are unable to obtain legal aid and cannot afford to pay. We offer our time, skills and expertise to provide pro bono legal advice, drafting, mediation assistance and representation to those who need it most.

The London Legal

The London Legal Support Trust is an independent charity that raises funds for free legal services in London & the South East. They support the provision of specialist legal advice through law centres, advice agencies and citizens advice services by providing them with grant funding alongside technical and practical support. Each year we raise funds for them by taking part in the London Legal Walk.

Diversity and Gender Balance in the Real Estate industry

We are members of various organisations who promote diversity and gender balance within our industry. These include: Women in Planning, Women in Property, Chicks With Bricks, RE: Women, Real Estate Balance, and the Equilibrium Network. It is a time to challenge stereotypes, fight bias, broaden perceptions and celebrate women’s achievements.

UK Real Estate Industry COVID19 Outreach for Support

Martha Grekos Legal Consultancy Limited has signed up to the Real Estate Industry initiative “Do Some Good” to help disadvantaged groups in our community during the Covid-19 pandemic. We are a united industry, and this is an opportunity to come together as a community with the right resources to truly make a difference. Martha Grekos is also a British Red Cross Community Reserve Volunteer, helping our communities get back on track in the event of a major local emergency. This is particularly important right now and volunteers are working with the authorities to support the Covid-19 response in the best possible way. Volunteers are tackling the pandemic with kindness.
